about the translator
background
J. Edward Brown is a native English-speaking American fluent in Chinese living in the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin.
His fluency in Mandarin Chinese and ability as a translator owes less to his academic background than to four years of the use of Mandarin as his primary daily language after settling here in China.
In 2002, he scored an 8 of 8 on the internationally standardized HSK Chinese Language Proficiency Examination.
He also has a near-specialist background in Contemporary Chinese literature and a frighteningly complete
knowledge of the Chinese entertainment scene.

other information
Daily output depends on a number of factors but as a very general guide, I can handle around 3,000 words a day. The speed of proofreading work
depends on the quality of the original translation. What constitutes a rush job will be
determined on a case-by-case basis.
