Yiqi Translation Services produces Chinese to English translations of exceptional quality at affordable prices.

Please note that I do not work with English to Chinese translations. As a native English-speaking professional translator, I only translate into my first language.

document translation

I translate, proofread and edit documents in a wide variety of formats, using the following software on a PC running Windows XP Professional (Chinese) to cover most major file types:

-Microsoft Word and Office Suite 2000- Excel, Powerpoint, etc
-Adobe InDesign CS v3
-Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional
-HTML-Kit for translating within HTML

websites, multimedia and local/globalization

Translating the content of a website, PDF file, PowerPoint presentation and so on is never a problem, regardless of format. However, I do not currently offer DTP services involving the re-design of multimedia presentations. In the rare instance that design or imagery will pose a problem for the target audience, I'll be happy to inform you and provide suggestions.


proofreading

Proofreading work is charged by the hour to reflect the fact that editing in my field is often not as simple as checking for misspellings and omissions and unfortunately tends to involve a complete rewrite of another text.

Proofreading projects can only be accepted if both the English translation and the original Chinese source text are provided.


rates

Rates are based on the number of words in the source text.

I strive to keep my rates low. Pricing for individual projects will vary according to factors including subject matter, technicality and the urgency of the deadline. For a free quote on a project, contact me with as much information as possible.

China's current financial situation does put restrictions on feasible payment options. For the present moment, I am unable to accept credit cards and checks from outside the country. Please indicate your preferred payment method when contacting me and I'll do everything I can to accommodate your requests.
